The murals themselves are pretty easy to interpret. They decorate the outside of a German restaurant and portray classic German scenes. The story of how the artist for the two murals on the west side of the building ended up doing them has a little bit of a twist, and Kevin Kirkland of the Post Gazette wrote about it here.

Mr Heusey told us that he included people in these images that work at the Hofbrauhaus as well as some local patrons.

On the back of the restaurant, facing the river, is a mural of Neuschwanstein. This is the real life Bavarian castle that Disney modeled their castle after. Ashley Van Auken painted this panel.
