Dachshund Mosaic by James Simon

This mosaic is part of the Art on Gist Street project created by James Simon. On this one, short, street in Uptown, we’ve counted no less than 11 pieces of art. There are paintings, mosaics, sculptures and murals. Some artwork is positioned in combination with other pieces to create unique, mixed media scenes.

This dachshund mosaic was recently moved to a more permanent location on the wall underneath Portrait of Antoine where the Three Pigs used to be. Artwork on Gist St seems to be a continuing project with some pieces periodically being replaced, and new exhibits being added without any fanfare. It’s worth it to stop by every now and then to see what’s new.
