At the back of yet another small community garden we were surprised to find a copy of a mural from the NY Metropolitan Museum. Romare Bearden, the same artist responsible for the tile mural in the Gateway Center T–station, did this collage in 1971. The original is made out of many different materials and portrays a stretch of Lenox Ave in NYC (Harlem). To hear the story behind each panel in this mural, take the guided tour of it on the museum site.
