Another of James Simon’s collaborative efforts with Braddock REDUX and the Braddock Youth Project to help beautify and lift up the community. They worked together to design and install this ground mosaic on an empty lot at the corner of Braddock Ave and Verona St.

The empty lot used to be an eyesore and was located next to a bus stop. Several community programs helped to finance the project and seven local teenagers worked with James Simon to creat the mural. We ran into Mr Simon and another artist last fall when they came to make repairs on the mural. That's why you see the men working on it in our photos taken in 2012. With it laying flat on the ground, four years of weather had necessitated some regrouting.

Now the former eyesore is the Verona Street Mosaic Park and it's a very nice corner to be waiting for a bus.
