The first Carnegie Library (of more than 1,600 eventually built) is adorned with this Warhol–like mural of it's founder on the side of the building. Lisa Whitney created this mural for the United Way Day of Caring around 2006. The library wasn’t sure of the date, but gave us an approximate time frame.
This library first opened in 1889, closed in 1974, and reopened again in 1982.
