Bike Parking - artist unknown

So does this really qualify as a mural or public art? I don’t know. It’s probably more commercial, but hey, I think I explained about the fact that we biked to all of these murals. It’s what we do. So curator’s discretion applies and we’re including this. We also included some murals located inside the local bike shops. We’re into encouraging biking as a mode of transportation. It’s a great way to really get to know your city.

Back to this quasi–mural. This is on the Century Building where they’ve installed a Bicycle Commuter Center. While they still have free bike racks outside here, they’ve also installed two shipping containers where commuters can lease secure, inside space for their bikes for the year.

In case you were wondering, all of the Pittsburgh Parking Authority Garages have free sheltered bike racks too.
