In 2011 the Braddock community center opened with the name The Nyia Page Braddock Community Center. Anyone living in Pittsburgh has heard and probably wept over the tragic murder of the beautiful toddler in 2007.

This sculpture stands in front of the center as further memorial to the child that the whole community – the whole Pittsburgh region – mourned. Again, James Simon worked with the Braddock Youth Project to create this mosaic butterfly. The sculpture bears the inscription: I only ask to be free. The butterflies are free. Charles Dickens
